Australia is considered to be the smallest continent and also the largest Island in the world. One of the most famous place in Aussie is Ayers Rock. It is a surreal monolith of red sandstone abruptly rises out of the flat surface and it is located at the centre of the Aussie. The Ayers Rock is also known as Uluru which serves almost literally as Australia’s heart. Uluru captures the mind and the imagination with its orche red beauty.
To honor “Sir Henry Ayers”,Uluru was named as “Ayers Rock” by the Europeans. It is almost 600 million years old and has a height of 348 meters above the sea level. The native Aborigines tribe people consider this rock as a very sacred place. Uluru was declared a world heritage site by global body UNESCO. It was originally formed under the ocean, and gradually hardened by over the time.
It is most famous for its ability to change color based on the time of year and the time of day. The Rock looks most beautiful at the time of the sunset because of the fantabulous red color which occurs due to the combination of the angle of the sun, minerals inside the rock and the reflection of the surrounding soil. Star Gazing is one of the most popular activity carried out in Uluru. Climbing the rock is not illegal yet it is still considered to be an irrespectful to the Aboriginal culture.
