MADAGASCAR.

Madagascar is a huge island nation of the southeast coast of Africa.It is the world’s fourth largest island.

As a result of the island’s long isolation from neighbouring continents,Madagascar is home to various plants and animals found nowhere else on earth.Approximately 90% of all plant and animal species found in Madagascar.Many native plant species are used as herbal remedies for a variety of afflictions.

Madagascar’s varied fauna and flora are endangered by human activity.As human population density rose on the island,deforestation accelerated beginning around 1,400 years ago.

Each of the many ethnic subgroups in Madagascar adhere to their own set of beliefs,practices and ways of life that have historically computed to their unique identities.

Lemurs are primates,a group that includes monkey,apes and humans. They are nocturnal, insectivorous creatures with small bodies, long noses and large eyes. Eighty eight species of lemurs exist today all of which are native to Madagascar.
