Mizoram is a state in NORTHEAST INDIA . The name is derived from Mizo , the name of the native inhabitants and Ram which means land . The capital is AIZAWL . Official languages are English and Hindi . Formation was done on 20th Feb , 1987.
FLAG : This flag has white blue color with red sun in front. It was adopted on 1961.

FAMOUS PLACES IN MIZORAM :
1. SOLOMON’S TEMPLE : It is a symbol of love to JESUS of NAZARETH . It was constructed on Dec 1996. The interior of the temple building is square . It can accommodate 2000 people .
2. MUSEUM OF MIZORAM : It includes 5 galleries : textile , ethnology, history , anthropology and archaeology . This museum was built in 1977.
3. TAM DIL : It is a reservoir lake situated 6 km from Saitual . The word Tam means mustard plant and Dil means lake . A new frog called Leptons is present .
4. THE VANTAWNG FALLS : It is located 5 km. from south of this country . This is the highest uninterrupted fall in Mizoram . The height is recorded as 750 feet .
5. THE INFINITE AINAWN PARK : This is one of the most favorite spot in this state. All the visitors thoroughly enjoy this place as there is swimming area , rides .
6. REIEK : This is a mountain that rests at an elevation of 1465 m. It is surrounded by lush green bushes , trees etc. It is situated at a distance of 29 km.

CULTURE OF MIZORAM :
- PUAN – is their traditional dress . It is designed in a very beautiful manner.
- THE FOLK MUSIC in Mizoram is very famous . It is accompanied by drums, gongs .
- CHERAW is their traditional dance . They celebrate it during festivals . A large crowd will always be around this place.
- Rice is their staple food . But their favorite dish is made of steamed vegetables with pork and spinach .
- CHAPCHUR KUT FESTIVAL is celebrated every year . It includes a lot of cultural activities .
- ROD PUSHING is their traditional sports play . It portrays the value of strength.
