Eiffel Tower:

Europe is one of the place where most tourists visits because of its impeccable beauty. Europe was named after a princess of  greek mythology called “Europa”. Europe has many interesting places to visit, the one place which everyone wants to visit is located in Europe, which is none other than “Paris”. Paris is known as the “City of Lights” because of the Sparkling beauty of the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower was built in order to celebrate the 100th year of the French Revolution, at first everyone opposed the construction of the Tower. And even Verlaine nicknamed the Tower a the “Skeleton of Beffroi”. However after the Eiffel Tower was built over 200 million people visited the tower and later it became symbol of French industrial power. And the most interesting part is that because of the thermal expansion, the Eiffel Tower grows towards the sunlight for at least 6 inches during the warmer days.

The funny story behind Eiffel tower is one man named Victor Lustig convinced two investors to buy the tower from him and even he got profit of about $70,000 bribe from the first victim. We have to get permission to take pictures of the tower at night. So Paris is a place where you can witness the beauty of the both light and the dark through the great Eiffel Tower. Related image

MOUNT KILIMANJARO.

One of the summits kilimanjaro is in Tanzania in East Africa.mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s most popular trekking destination, and at 19,341 feet it is Africa’s highest peak.

More than 30,000 people attempt the climb every year and about three- quarters of those reach the summit.

Kilimanjaro has five climbing routes to the summit-

Marangu route
Machame route
Rongai route Lemosho route
Mweka route.

The popular machame and lemosho routes are scenic. The marangu route is the easiest route.

There are three volcanic cones that make up Kilimanjaro. Kibo is the summit,Mawenzi at 16,893 feet and Shira at 13,000 feet.

Kilimanjaro has a large variety of forest types that harbor 1,200 vascular plant species. The forests of Kilimanjaro is the lack of a bamboo zone, which occurs on all other tall mountains in East Africa with a similarly high rainfall.Because there is no bamboo zone there is a limited supply of food for animals.

However, there are a number of species that thrive in the area.Blue monkeys, which are not actually blue but grey or black with a white throat, gather in the forest zone on the Rongai route.

Fantastic hikes in Africa that don’t necessarily involve great heights include the wild coast and the fish river canyon.

THE ANTELOPE CANYON

Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southeast. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, senic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as “Upper Antelope Canyon” or “The Crack” and “Lower Antelope Canyon” or “The Corksrew”.

Depth: About 120 feet

Type: Sandstone Canyon

GEOLOGY:

Antelope Canyon was formed by erosion of Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to other sub-aerial processes. Rainwater, especially during monsoon season, runs into the extensive basin above the slot canyon sections, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. Over Time the passageways eroded away, making the corridors deeper and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form charecteristic “flowing” shapes in rock. Flooding in the canyon still occurs. A flood occurred on October 30, 2006, that lasted 36 hours, and caused the Tribal Park Authorities to close Lower Antelope Canyon for five months.

UPPER ANTELOPE CANYON:

Upper Antelope Canyon is called “the place where water runs through rocks” by the Navajo. It is the most frequently visited by tourists for two reasons. First, its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Second, beams or shafts of direct sunlight radiating down from openings at the top of the canyon are much more common in Upper than in Lower Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky.

ac1

Winter colours are more muted. Summer months provide two types of lighting. Light beams start to peek into the canyon March 20 and disappears October 7 each year.

LOWER ANTELOPE CANYON:

Lower Antelope Canyon is called “spiral rock arches ” by the Navajo, is located several miles from Upper Antelope Canyon. Prior to the istallation of metal stairways, visiting the canyon required climbing along pre-installed ladders in certain areas. The lower canyon is in the shape ofV” and shallower than the Upper Antelope. Lightning is better in the early hours and late morning.

ac3

FLASH FLOOD DANGER:

On August 12, 1997 Eleven Tourists were killed in Lower Antelope Canyon by a flash flood. Very little rain fell at the site that day, but an earlier thunderstorm had dumped a large amount of water into the canyon basin, 7 miles(11 km) upstream.
