Chapel bridge and water Tower

Chapel bridge and water Tower mark the upper end of the mediaeval bridgehead city of Lucerne , where the water of lake Lucerne flow into river.

Originally Chapel bridge and water Tower were parts of oldest mediaeval city ramparts of Lucerne.

Lucerne water tower also served as a dungeon, an archive and a treasury vault until the 19 th century.

Today a traditional associations used it as a club room.

Painting under the roof of the chapel bridge

85 of the 110 pictures under the roof, dating back to 1611, were destroyed by the 1993 🔥 fire , only 25 could be saved or restored.

This provides platform for the creativity of today’s population and besides the original pictures can be saved from “thoughtless attacks” with all the sorts of fun materials like paint and glibber bombs used during carnival these days.

So if you’re interested in the old paintings don’t choose the carnival season for your visit to Lucerne.

Matterhorn

The Matterhorn is a mountain of the Alps , straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy .

It was studied by Horace in the late eighteenth century. It remained unclimbed after most of the other great alpine peaks had been attained and became the subject of an international competition for the summit.

The north face was not climbed until 1931 and is amongst the three north faces of the Alps, known as ” The Trilogy “.

It is mainly composed of gneisses, lying over ophiolites and sedimentary rocks of penninic nappes.

The mountains đź—» current shape is the result of cirque erosion due to multiple glaciers diverging from the peak, such as the Matterhorn Glacier.

In addition , the steep faces of the mountain and its isolated location make it prone to banner clouds formation, with the air flowing around the mountain producing condensation of the air on the Lee side and also creating vortices.

The Matterhorn had been a part of the Swiss federal inventory of natural monuments since 1983.

Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall was a guarded concrete barrier that physically and ideologically divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989.

The barrier included guard towers placed along large concrete walls, accompanied by a wide area later known as ” The death strip” .

View from the west Berlin side of the wall, here follows the curve of the Luisenstadt canal which was filled in 1932.

It is constructed by the German Democratic republic starting on 13 August 1961, the wall cut off ( by land ) west Berlin from virtually all of surrounding East Germany and East Berlin .

The wall symbolized the lack of freedom under communism. It symbolized the cold war between the communist Soviet bloc and the western democratic, capitalist bloc.

Professor Stein said that Berlin was on the frontline in the cold war struggle between the superpowers. The Berlin Wall divided families who found themselves unable to visit each other.

This wall is built to divide Germany between east and west .

No one liked the wall because it seperated them from their family and friends.

The fall of the Berlin Wall was a major turning point in the history for many reasons.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, there was no more communism in Germany.

Mount bromo

It is an active volcano and part of Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. The valcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger semeru National park . The name Bromo is derived from Javanese pronounciation of Brahma, the Hindu god. It is the most interesting thing.

It is also known as sea of land. It looked like quite a snow ,but a far away one that I wasn’t meant to enjoy from close.

It is also an sounded adventurous. It turned to be an exhilarating experience.

A typical mount bromo tour consists of viewing the â›… sunrise over it, and then going all the way up to the crater. The overall experience can be really enjoyable, provided one knows what to expect . The best view point to see the sunrise over Mount bromo is that of mount penanjakan.

Jeeps and cars usually drop passengers off as close as possible to the entrance to the park, from where they have to walk all the way to the viewpoint. A good thing to keep in mind when planning a bromo tour, then, is that given how popular an attraction this is with the locals,it is probably better to go during the week and to avoid Indonesian National holidays.

It is quite impressive to look down the crater of an active volcano and see smoke coming out of it.

GRAND PRISMATIC SPRING

The America’s most beautiful place to view is the Grand Prismatic hotspring. One should not touch it as the boiling heat because it melts skin from bone, mixing red blood into deep blue.

The pool is blue in colour surrounded by rings of colour ranging from red to green. The other varieties of pigmented bacteria, viruses, and microbes in the warm mineral abundant water surrounding hot spring.

Water at the center which bubbles up 121 feet from underground chambers can reach the temperature for 189 degrees Farenheit, which makes too hot in day to day life. Since there is living in the centre of the pool, it makes the water cool, clear, deep blue in colour and makes a beautiful view.

As the water spreads out and cools, it creates the concentric circles of varying temperature. Each rings create a different kinds of bacteria. The different types of bacteria give the spring its prismatic colours.

The outermost ring is the coolest ring, at 131 degree Farenheit and it is also a home for bacteria. There will be a kind of red brown in the ring.
